Internet speed is a bit slow on my RHEL 64 Bit....please help.
I use a DSL wired connection and uses a PPPOE type.
Again, you provide no details, as with your other two threads. Without knowing what your environment is, there's nothing we can help you with. Telling us DSL is nothing..there are MANY speeds of DSL, and all of them use PPPoE connections. And you don't tell us why you think it's slow...if you're paying for 512KB/s, and your speed tests are in that range, what else do you want?
And since you now tell us you're using Red Hat Enterprise...have you called Red Hat support? RHEL is a commercial, PAY FOR distribution. If you're paying for it, you're paying for tech support and access to the online repositories, so you should be sure to use those resources. If you're not...stop now, and do a fresh install of CentOS, since that will give you access to online repositories/packages/bugfixes. I'll also say that unless you have a real NEED for a server-class OS, you should install Fedora/openSUSE/Mint/Ubuntu/etc.,...something more consumer-friendly, which is made to have things like browsers, instant messengers, etc.

I am undergoing a course on RHCE presently....Thatś why I installed RHEL 6...I had installed CentOS 2 weeks before for the sake of getting free repository access. BUt now I am not using it since in my institution they are using RHEL 6. I have a dual boot with Windows 7. I am getting a better Internet speed with Windows. This is the reason I posted a thread about slow Internet speed.
My Internet speed is 1 MBps upto 6 GB limit, 512 Kbps after that. So currently it is 512 Kbps. But I am not getting that speed while browsing.

..which is 99.9X% IDENTICAL to Red Hat Enterprise. Using CentOS as a replacement for RHEL6 (especially for learning) is done all the time. Load CentOS.

...back to what I asked earlier, which is "What do your speed tests tell you??". There are many Internet speed tests you can run, which will tell you your upload/download speed. And saying "not getting that speed while browsing", doesn't tell us anything. There could be MANY reasons why a page loads faster in Windows than Linux...flash content, scripts, pages written for Windows/IE are just some of them.
Run a network speed test from both Windows and Linux, and compare them.
