Installing FVWM2 on Redhat Linux?

I installed fvwm2 windows manager for Redhat Linux 7.3 using the rpm file. Everything got installed okay except when I run fvwm2, it gives me the following error:

"fvwm2: error while loading shared libraries: libstroke.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory"

Has anyone installed fvwm2 on Redhat.

What is the proper procedure for installing the tool? (Please give detailed notes since I am not an expert in Unix/Linux installations. I have been trapped in the Windows world for far too long!)

What is the correct package that I need to download and what are the steps involved in properly installing the tool. Our admins are NOT interested in supporting this tool, but if I can give them a simple and straight forward procedure for installing the tool, they will install it for me.
Thank you.

If your admins are smart, they won't let you use such a vulnerable (out-of-the-box) distribution. Use RH 9, update it, and fvwm will probably work and your admins will thank you.

Otherwise, you need to get libstroke, put it in /usr/X11R6/lib and run ldconfig.

Thanks for the response. It is not a matter of the admins not being smart, but I am talkign about a server that is part of a large firm (more than 40 thousand employees). So, as such our admins don't have the freedom to switch to a newer release of RH. Having said that, we already have RH8 available and now working on deploying RH Enterprise 3.0.

But in anycase, I would've expected FVWM to work on the RH7.3 or 8.0 release.

Where can I get the libstroke.so.0 file and I woudl assume that ldconfig is a built in function in RH.?

Thank you.
