i810_audio driver issues

A very strange problem. My sound stopped working 2 days ago for no apparent reason. Yesterday, it started working again for no apparent reason. This morning it has stopped working again. This is driving me nuts.

Lodown-> New install of RH9 - updated to 20.9 kernel last week: My audio worked correctly for for a couple of weeks. I installe Wine and my audio and mplayer both stopped working (except for yesterday when my sound briefly returned). I appears that the driver is loaded correctly. Notice that I set volume to 100 and still no worky. The sound-config tones are not working either.

When I execute a modprobe i810_a*

this shows up:

[root@dhcp-667-30 root]# tail /var/log/messages

Then:

[root@dhcp-667-30 root]# aumix -v 100
[root@dhcp-667-30 root]# aumix -v 100 -v 100
[root@dhcp-667-30 root]# lsmod

soundcore 6404 2 [i810_audio]
sd_mod 13516 0 (autoclean)
radeon 116132 1

For the life of me, I can't figure it out. Any ideas?
