How do I recover the content of /etc/modules.conf?

I am a Linux newbie using rh8.0 who has screwed himself by deleting /etc/conf.modules before making sure that /etc/modules.conf had my system device alias list. Sigh. I have done a great deal of searching, but I have been unable to find a way to generate a new list. Any Suggestions?

Thanks,
Bill

as one newbie to another, i understand completely.
just out of curiosity, what made you delete conf.modules?
did you check to see if, by chance, there was an older
version of conf.modules saved in the same directory (something
named modules.conf~ or some such name)?

I am developing code for a Motorola M5282EVB evaluation board that will be running uClinux. I was in the process of adding the BDM s/w module when during the build process I got the message that conf.modules was deprecated, but still being used and to delete it and use modules.conf instead. It's what I get for messing with system files at the end of the day.

I think that if I can force the new h/w search code to 'refind' my current setup would be the easiest solution, bit I haven't tracked that down yet.

regards,
Bill
