Question Freeing up Space

I want to free up some space on my RedHat 8.0 server.

Can I safely delete the contents of the var/spool/up2date folder?

Please do not post the same thread in more than one forum. Picking the most relevant forum and posting it once there makes it easier for other members to help you and keeps the discussion all in one place.

And I was telling you not to double post as that is against our rules and what you agreed to when registering. Lets keep the discussion in the other forum where I first answered. Thanks.

personally, I don't use up2date but if I wanted to find the answer to this, I'd just back up the directory, delete the files and see what happens. If a problem came up, it'd be simple enough to correct by just restoring from backup.

Of course, you could always use apt4rpm in which case, you can remove the files from /var/cache/apt by issuing a quick apt-get clean

Best,
Adam
