Common configuration for a group?

Hi

I am a root user of my Home Linux PC. My family kids are also interested in Linux nowadays. They need Games and Education related application to start with Linux. I have created login for everyone under a group called Children.

1. When I install a software for them, how to give access to the new application for entire group?

2. I need to configure a common desktop for them. i.e desktop shortcuts for the entire group of Children. How to do it?

My distribution is Red Hat 8.0 with KDE 3.0.x

thanks in advance,
SwamyTK
