Changed resolution in Xwindow, now I can't see

Have a Red Hat enterprise box, using a LCD screen and I was getting a message saying out of scan range, I changed it to 1024, still have message, went to 1280 now I can't see anything, is there a way to change it in the command line, I assume my real problem is the refresh rate. How can I also change that.

From a command line (you might boot to runlevel 3), run the
Code:
sax2
program.

I think RH also has their own graphics config program, but I don't remember what it is called. If you're really interested in finding it, try
Code:
apropos display
or
Code:
apropos X11
or some such. (Better yet, try google.)
