Change bootloader - not in MBR

Hello,
I'm looking to change LILO to GRUB on my RH9 install. LILO is not installed to the MBR but to the first sector of the root partition which is /dev/hdb2 if I remember.

I'm looking to change to GRUB and can't find a simple article/solution that can tell me how to do this!

TIA,
Andy.

Install grub on your system ( just the package, or download and compile yourself ) Then login as root and type

grub

It will take its time, while it tests the bios, now set the root to your /boot directory disk. say

root (hd1,1)

Thats hdb2 I've set it too as an example. Now to install it to the the right place for your purpose type

setup (hd1,1)

Thats it. quit with the command quit.

You just have to write your menu.list, The GRUB manual hass all the details you require.
