CentOS 5.6 Installation


I'm going to install CentOS 64bits soon from ubuntu. So need some info. Can I install minimal CentOS from Disk 1 only ?

And can anyone tell me whats the default kernel Hz for CentOS 5.6 ?

that's mostly dictated by the HW; what do you mean by it?

be warned
cent/RHEL is very different from Ubuntu
it is DESIGNED for the server and NOT on a home desktop .

by minimal install
do you mean NO GUI
a text ONLY install ( that also means NO firefox )

yes. minimal install means no gui..

and ofcourse im installing centos on server computer, not for home pc use.

like normal 32bit ubuntu gives 250hz kernel frequency until I change the kernel some different version. And fedora 14 has default 1000hz. So just asked for centos 5.6 default hz. And the server config is dual quad core with 4gigs ram.
