apache2 logs Redhat 4

Guys,

This morning we had numerous links (URL) that we monitored went down around 3 a.m.. We use a third party software that monitors this link. At this point, I am not sure if the notifications were false or did it actually happened.

What logs do I need to look at to help me with this?

We are running on redhat 4.

try /usr/local/apache/logs/error_log

if everything went down look at /var/log/messages

Check your httpd.conf for the log location, maybe /var/log/httpd/. It should show a lack of entries during the outage.
Was it short term? check /var/log/messages as recommended by choogendyk. Maybe the machine rebooted itself (kernel panic).
