Wary Puupy on 128MB DOM problem

Hi Guys,

I've installed Wary puppy 5.2 to a thin client box (Nexterminal) first by Live CD and thn by 512MB CF disk / 1GB SD Card USB.

I have a 64MB and 128MB Dom (the 64MB came ou of the machine, the 128MB out of another ITX thin client). The drive appears a sda1 and I can format this ext2 and install puppy. On boot it comes up with a kernel panic after installing to ram and won't go any further. I have tried it with a kingston 128MB CF (as a test) which gives the same message is 128MB not big enough anymore? The machine has 512MB memory and is a normal ITX board but with only a 12v 4pin connector. I really want an interna;l solution, but as there is no extra power connector I can't even install a CF to IDE or hard disk so thought the DOM solution was a way forward until it wouldn't work.

Any help would be fantastic, thanks

One thing I would strongly suggest is to create a swap partition on the drive at least equal to the memory installed if not larger. It does help.
I have an old Compaq laptop and also a 10 year old Toshiba laptop with 512megs of ram. I was able to run Slacko 5.3 on both of them although on the Compaq, I did a full install with a swap partition. Before I made a swap partition, I had major problems with getting things to run.
You might also try an older version of Puppy on older machines. I have used Puppy 4.31 on them with good results.
