Well, I've been using Puppy now for fifteen years now and I really can't seem to answer this correctly I think.
First, look in the dowloaded .tar file for clues. Mostly there's a 'howto' that tells your how to install this in linux.
It's a .tar packages so you have to compile it yourself in Puppy I think. First find out which kernel Bionic has and which driver corresponds with that one.
- You have to download the devx.sfs file in Puppy (It's in Quickpet).
- Unpack the driver.tar file somewhere in your home directory to a new directory (galaxdriver).
- Open a terminal in that directory.
- Now type in: ./configure (error if it's not there)
- Now type in : ./make
- Now type in : ./make install
If you're lucky it will work, but I think you will get a load of errors. Because compiling stuff yourself is mostly not so easy but you really feel like a Linux-pro when you've succeeded.
In Puppy you have a command line package manager 'pkg'. It's a bit of a swiss army knife for puppy and it's possible to compile packages as well with this tool. You should put the driver directory in .pkg (that's located in your home directory) and then well, I don't know. Try this, try that and some more!
