win32: downloading over default iexplore?

Hi,

On Windows XP, I have been installing Cygwin, and when you install it, it will prompt you to download packages from the server.
I have a proxy, so Cygwin installer bump on it.
Fine you can define it into the installer.

But... mingw32 does use the default parameters of the iexplore and really retrieves without telling him. Nice code. I am surprised it can.

In coding a C code, would you know how to implement this automatic
detection of proxy and using the default internet settings (proxy)?

thanks if you would have some hints to direct my google/search/...

Rgds

set Firefox 21 as your default browser
and set the proxy in firefox

the same way you would for setting up tor or a VPN

Well, I was thinking more to understand why the C code works in that case better than the other one in _win32
