What Linux stuffs should a Software Build/Test Engineer should know?

Does anyone have an idea about that ? The only thing I know from Job description is 'writing perl scripts' and run 'GNU tools for debug/test'. It would be great if I could know more and get well prepared for that.

Well, for Perl you'll need

perldoc.perl.org

and look up "GNU autotools tutorial".

Oh, and 'gdb' = the GNU debugger.
