vagrant up stucks in default: SSH auth method: private key

Hello,

I am trying to use vagrant and I have also installed virtual box.
When I try to 'vagrant up' I get the following output.

Code:
$ vagrant reload
==> default: [vagrant-hostsupdater] Removing hosts
==> default: Attempting graceful shutdown of VM...
    default: Guest communication could not be established! This is usually because
    default: SSH is not running, the authentication information was changed,
    default: or some other networking issue. Vagrant will force halt, if
    default: capable.
==> default: Forcing shutdown of VM...
==> default: Checking if box 'bento/ubuntu-16.04-i386' is up to date...
==> default: Clearing any previously set forwarded ports...
==> default: Clearing any previously set network interfaces...
==> default: Preparing network interfaces based on configuration...
    default: Adapter 1: nat
==> default: Forwarding ports...
    default: 1234 (guest) => 1234 (host) (adapter 1)
    default: 1235 (guest) => 1235 (host) (adapter 1)
    default: 5000 (guest) => 5000 (host) (adapter 1)
==> default: Running 'pre-boot' VM customizations...
==> default: Booting VM...
==> default: Waiting for machine to boot. This may take a few minutes...
    default: SSH address: 127.0.0.1:22
    default: SSH username: vagrant
    default: SSH auth method: private key
Vagrant seems to freeze at the SSH auth methodrivate key line.
Does anybody can help me fix this.

Thank you.

From the error messages it is apparent that ssh is either not running or is not configured with the right shared key.

Have you confirmed that SSH is running on the host machine?
Have you generated and configured a suitable key?

I would look through the vagrant docs first, and then an online search for the error message produces many hits, some of which surely provide useful information relevant to your case.
