uic command not found

I have built a cople of nice forms/window with qt designer and now I am wanting to generate the .cpp and .h files to use in Kdevelop. I am new to this programming eviroment. I have some experiance with MS Visual Studio and Borland C++ Builder.
I cd to the directory where the .ui file is and enter the command line and I get "uic command not found" I don't know if I don't have the right qt tools installed or if I am using uic incorrectly.
Thanks

Do a "locate uic" and see if it's not in the path, by any chance. You can see your current path by:

echo $PATH

On debian sarge uic is in /usr/bin, which is definitely in your path. It could install elsewhere on your distro but I'm guessing you haven't got a qt developer's package installed. look for something called qt-dev or libqt-dev or devel-qt or some such in your distro's packages. On debian it's libqt-dev.
