sytem information library

all,
before I go reinventing the wheel I need a library that will provide access to all types of system information such as number of cpus, usage of those cpus, amount of installed memory, how much memory is currently used, etc. Is a library like this currently available in C? I can't imagine that there isn't but I'm having trouble via google coming up with one. Otherwise I will be implementing one shortly.

Thanks for any tips,
jpbarto

Re: sytem information library

Take a look at /proc/{cpuinfo,meminfo}, it may be helpful.
