source /bin


if i want to modify the source code for example of ps, where i can found the file ps.c ? we have only the /bin, /usr/bin ecc.. with elf files.tnx in advance

Is there any source code available on the ps project homepage (if there is still a project?)... Otherwise, you might be able to have the source via your update tool (apt-get under debian at least propose most of the source code...)

"ps" is part of the "procps" package, together with "free", "vmstat", "top"...

You can of course install the source package for "procps" from your distribution. Or get it from the procps-homepage at: http://procps.sourceforge.net/
