server control language of java


java script is used to perform client-side control. Java is also used to make desktop applications... Is it used for perform server side control also? Like PHP, and asp.net

Just to be completely clear: Javascript is not the same as Java. They are fully independent and unrelated, except for the shared part of their names.

They are different but i guess the company that developed it is the same...

No, Java was developed by Sun Microsystems (now Oracle). JavaScript was developed by Netscape at the time Java was gaining popularity. The syntax is influenced by Java, but otherwise they are unrelated.

Syntax is influneced means it will be easy to java programmers to use java-script other than vb programmers.
