save mail to folder

Hello,

I am an avid user of gmail. Recently I have been receiving some important e-mails, and I want to download only those e-mails from that specific person to a folder.

The problem is I don't have any clue on how do I start. Do you know how can I do that?

You can use fetchmail to get your mail from gmail Then you can filter it (based on sender) using procmail.
I don't know if that's what you want, because you've posted your question in Programming forum, so maybe you want help to write a program for this.
In any case you can use google for more help.
