read manifest from Windows dll


Hi,
i have Windows XP -no sxstrace utility- and i would like to read the ".manifest" file contained within a dll. How can i do that?

Hi -

If I'm understanding your question correctly, "manifests" are a .Net thing: you're not going to find them in standard Win32 (or earlier) binaries (.dll's or .exe's).

If you've got Visual Studio, then "dumpbin.exe" is a great tool (for old-style .dll's and .exe's).

In the .Net world, ".Net Reflector" is an absolute must-have. Along with ildasm.exe (included only in the .Net Platform SDK, *not* just the Visual Studio IDE!!!):
