You might want to check the C bindings for KDE.

The main problem is you can't derive classes so it makes it restrictive what you can do in C with Qt, the C bindings in KDE help you out with this.

QT is essentially for C++. If you are specific about C, it is better to use GTK+.

If you want to do a GUI application you can do GTK using C or you can just work it with the C++enhancements over C.

You can't have your cake and eat it too. Qt is in C++, so you have to code in it with C++. If you want to code in C, try other libraries, but QT is certainly not for you!
