You can write your python code in files with the .py extension and then run them as follows "python programname.py". You an also use the IDLE python editor to write python files or enter python code into a terminal. To install IDLE, do
Code:
#yum install python-tools
Once thats done, run "idle" from a terminal or create a desktop shortcut. Take a look at this tutorial if you are new to python programming.
