Lightbulb Problem with ncurses

Hello friends,

I have developed an application which uses the "ncurses library" and represents graphic symbols on the text screen. The represented symbols are lines, double lines and corners. In order to visualize these symbols in RedHat 6.2, I included (echo -ne "\033(k") in the .bash_profile of the user who is executing the application.

I have compiled the application with RedHat 7.1's "ncurses library", and I've included again (echo -ne "\033(k") in the .bash_profile. However, I'm no able to visualize in RedHat 7.1 the graphics symbols, instead of this, appeare weird symbols or letters.

What do you think should I do to visualize correctly lines, double lines and corners in text mode in RedHat 7.1

Ina
