here is what i use:

Standard C++ Bible - very complete reference, only the most obscure topics are left uncovered. no database or game programming though, you'll have to find a specialized book i imagine, they are not included in the standard

O'Reilly's Perl in a Nutshell - what can I say, It's an O'Reilly book, and they are always good. Again, gives a good reference for things included with a Perl install, and only touches on things like database support that you can get as modules.

dont know PHP.

I'm not sure exactly what your plans are for PHP, but I've not seen a better book on it than PHP and MySQL Web Development by Luke Welling and Laura Thomson. ISBN: 0672326728.

Depends if you know any Perl, but:
1. Learning Perl (aka Llama book) - name says it all
2. Programming Perl (aka Camel book) - lang definition
3. Perl CookBook - worth it's weight in gold for pre-cooked solutions (with explanations) to common problems
All from O'Reilly, heavily recommended by me
