PHP, Apache reconfigure to support Databases

Hi All

I have a RH 7.2 system, with the installation comes by default a preconfigured PHP,APACHE and MySQL, which means that PHP supports MySQL natively and I could use it, now I have Sybase Installed in my machine and I want Apache to support it, Do I have to download the PHP sources and do an entire compile/re-configure or are there any ways/procedure such that to this working installation I want to Add Sybase support....or maybe at a later date Oracle support etc..
