php and mysql_connect issue


hey guys,

i'm having an issue where my webserver returns a 500 error when i try to connect to my local mysql server process,

i'm new to php and have no idea of how to debug this error. i'm using debian on the server, any help appreciated

Have a look in /var/log/httpd/error_log maybe ?

i don't understand why, but the problem resolved it's self, there were syntax errors but at least it told me what was wrong and i was able to fix it
