Open Source IRC Clients?

Hey, I'm looking for some open source IRC clients to sort of tear apart, to learn from. Anyone know of any good ones? An IRC server might be cool to look at, also. Using linux sockets would be the best, thanks.

OK...in that case, I suggest X-Chat, ksirc, BitchX, telnet, jabber, Kopete, etc.

sorry, i left my question very vague, I have a pretty bad cold... spending most of my time complaining of my sinuses. Anyhoo, is there any very simple c++ source code on irc clients for linux using linux sockets?
