You probably need to install the glibc-devel package.
Use the MCC software management program to browse for files you need.

It happened to me the same with 10.1. To compile stuff I had to install bison, yacc, etc. They're not as developer- friendly but for desktop users anyway.

Hmm. I downloaded bison and installed. IT was placed in usr/local/bin . How do I run it?
I tried "./bison" . It told me to look at --help . I did anyway. THen I tried to use it as command. Like this:

bison denklem.c
It gave me traditional compiler debugger warnings. "Unexpected Identifier" . Anyway ; is this program a object oriented compiler or
will we use it as commands? Maybe I am really a bad newbie

Unless you tell it to install the development packages its not going to install anything to let you do any kind of development at length. I just tell it to install dev packages and I'm good to go after installation, maybe one or two eccentric libraries are missing. Its been that way since the beginning though w/ their dev libraries. Its not a default.
