Makfile problem

Hi All
I am facing a strange problem,
I have two .cpp files

x.c and y.c

My projects directory structure is as follows

Dir A
|
-----------------------------------
| |
Dir B Dir E
|
Dir C
|
Dir D

x.c is placed in directory D and y.c is placed in directory E

every folder in project contains respective makefile.

x.c is dependent on y.c .

I have added the folowing on makefile of Dir D

Obj := x.o ../../Dir E/y.o

But when i make the top level makefile i am getting following erroe message -

Dir b/Dir C/Dir D ../../Dir E/y.o no such file.

What can be the problem

Regards
Marc

try putting the directory names in quotes, or escaping (or eliminating) the spaces otherwise.

Are they really called `Dir b'?

Could you please post the entire makefiles (unless they're humongous)?
