Interleaving using pipes

Hello,

Anyone have any experience in interleaving processes with pipes in c++? I'm trying to write a program that will split using fork() and then the child will output and then the parent will output. I am told that I have to use pipes to do this so that the processor won't just pick random outputs. Any ideas?? Sample code would help a ton. Thanks.
