The work assigned to u is not difficult ! Get the below mentioned book. It teaches how to create pipes, sockets, shared memories through easy to understand examples.

In case his instructor is googling for students who are trying to get this homework done by others, here is the text of the problem:
Quote:
In this homework, we are going to evaluate the performance of different IPC mechanisms on Linux. So, suppose that two processes, namely P1 and P2 are running. Transfer 50 megabytes of data between these two processes, using shared memory, pipes and sockets each time. For each case, report the time needed and finally conclude which IPC mechanism is the fastest and which one is the slowest in your experiment.

Fill in the following table after doing your homework.
[and so on]

Per the LQ Rules, please do not post homework assignments verbatim. We're happy to assist if you have specific questions or have hit a stumbling point, however. Let us know what you've already tried and what references you have used (including class notes, books, and Google searches) and we'll do our best to help. Also, keep in mind that your instructor might also be an LQ member.

Please feel free to start a new thread that meets these guidelines.
