I can't run tomcat

Tomcat package is for any platform
I run it in Slackware 9.1 by execute shell script
named "startup.sh" which is in "$CATALINA_HOME/bin/startup.sh"
But it fail ! it alert me that "The JAVA_HOME variable is not set"
Even I 've already set it. I append this code "JAVA_HOME=/opt/j2sdk1.5.0"
to /etc/profile file and test it by "echo $JAVA_HOME" and the result is
"/opt/j2sdk1.5.0" that is right and seem work fine.

Thanks ;->

PS. I've already set $CATALINA_HOME too.

Go to your tomcat directory and look for a file called "profile". Put your paths in there. Let us know what the progress is.
