Talking how to run c++ from linux


i am ashamed to ask such a question .. but i am not experienced enough to know from where can i run the c++ from the linux opertation system .. waiting for help and thanx all

Well you can use some the free compilers that usually come with Linux.

g++ is one example.

in the console type g++ and if you get a message like no input file or so then you have it installed.

Then do a

man g++ to see the syntax of hoe you would use it to compile c++ files.

Also to write C++ you can always use vi, vim, kdevelop, or any text editor. Oops almost forgot xemacs or emacs

Me I like to use kdevelop, which is usually installed when you install KDE.

g++ yourfile.cc -o *name for executable*
emacs or xemacs is probably the best for writing your own program as you can invoke the compiler from within emacs or xemacs
