Hops counter in JAVA(urgent)

Hi,
I need an immediate help from this forum, actually i have to simply implement trace route in JAVA. what i have tried is this
1.made a UDP packet
2.and changed its TTL(class MulticastSocket) but the TTL of that packet isn't changing.

Kindly tell the exact class and methods if not then tell the library..................................i have to submit this program tomorrow.......

Since its too late now and I don't know java, I'll tell you how to get faster responses when you need them. DON'T SAY ITS URGENT, or you'll be ignored as if you think you're better than the rest of the world. It happens in a volunteer forum.

You'd likely have better luck with answers to java related questions from sun's or IBM's forums since they implement java. Just a though. Good luck.
