Help with script to convert different Video file types to wmv format for streaming

Hi,
I'm currently trying to work on a script that will convert different video file types (avi, mov, divx, etc) to wmv format for streaming. Has anyone had any experience with this? I have tried using ffmpeg and mplayer's mencoder but have had very poor luck converting to wmv formats. Any tips would be great!

Wonder around google for a couple million hits. I went searching last spring for those answers and found them. You can do the same.
