Help with GTK and Glade autogen

hello forum....ers

I have an installation of SUSE 9.0 Professional.
I am trying to do a little development using Glade to build the interface. I am then editing the source code to add my own stuff and then I run the command ./autogen.sh to start the compile process.
This command runs for a bit and then I get the following output.....

./configure: line 4031: syntax error near unexpected token `PACKAGE,'
./configure: line 4031: `PKG_CHECK_MODULES(PACKAGE, $pkg_modules)'

Now I can successfully run this on a RedHat 9 machine with no problems.

So I opened the configure file and sure enough that line is there....however, it is not always the same line, so removing it would not work as when I saved source code from Glade again it would overwrite it.

Can anyone let me in on the secret to get this to work on the SUSE box?

Any and all assistance is greatly appreciated,
Mike
