I dont know bout that, plz tell.
Since there is no common code it would be inaccurate to say that Linux is based on DOS.

As for drawing, you might want to look at the ncurses functionality, that will probably address your requirements with drawing on a terminal.

Thanx. Tried the HOWTO.
changing the color of the terminal is fun,
but couldnt find ncurses.h on my system.
will download it after u tell me if I need any other libraries
or a library package. Debian.

In that case windows is Linux, because linux means "Linux Is Not UniX", and windows is not unix.

No.

Linux and other Unix based operating systems are not disk operating systems.

In a disk operating system such as MS-DOS or Windows, every disk partition is the root of it's own directory tree, and every absolute path starts with a drive letter.

In *nix, there is one directory tree with one root, with a structure independent of the disk or disks used to store the data.

I think Linux is basically Linus with the 's' replaced with an 'x' to make it rhyme with Minix.
