Hash File Implementation

Just looking around for a Hash File implementation. Anyone know of a open source project where I could a decent implementation (generic)?

Thanks in advance.

Not sure it this is what you're looking for, but I remember seeing a basic one in the sources of the "du" command (for debian it's in the coreutils package). "du" uses a hash table to prevent counting hardlinks double by storing the inode numbers already counted in a hash table.

I was looking actually not for a in memory hash table or a hash algorithm, I've written and got plenty of those on disposable. I looking more for a storage hash file. Something simple would be cool, linear hash file. Im not looking to use anything complicated like a btree implementation.
