ftp directory and contents

Hi there

I am using ftp on debian to access the content of an ftp site. At the moment I can upload and download files but don't seem to be able to do the same with directory's. Any ideas?

What ftp client are you using? Most command line based clients don't allow getting and putting directories. A client like ncftp does allow this, but you do have to do a put -R or a get -R for recursive.
