Write a program where you can add users, each user has a password that must be encrypted. Then have it so that the only way to add/remove a user is to login as root or admin.

there used to be a really cool site i went to called rentacoder . dunno if it's still around or what but they may have some interesting projects there. also, why not start to delve into a gui frontend for this stuff? i wish i would have done that when i first got into the languages, rather than waiting till i hadn't used them for like 2 years, then had a big project due that required it in college. learning to make a nice interface on the fly just before it's due really sucks lol.

i'm too new for GUI, but i will go into it, however you really can't program yourself in GUI, as if you are loookginf to build a full game

well i am now lol. they like to see a GUI frontend in mid and upper level college courses where i go. It wasn't hard, at least not in java. I took a java course, a C course, a C++ course, and capped it off with a data structures class that uses java. So most of my experience is with java, but i really don't like programming. I'm not sure what IDE's there are for C++ but for java i used Netbeans. They don't cover how to make a GUI in any early level programming class, which is as far as I have to go. it's something the student is supposed to learn on their own

They have me writing programs in every class i take, even though it has nothing to do with the course. they say "we just want to make sure our graduates can still write a program." I'm in for Systems and Network Administration.
