Database connection

Hi,

How do I make a database connection in Linux?

I'm used to ADO in Windows and looking for something similar in Linux.

I want a solution that is common among Linux distributiions, easy and fast.

Is there any good options in KDE3(or 2) regarding database connections?

It's a MySql database I'm going to connect to(via C++).

you'll probably want to look at somethign like mysql++ which is a binding api.

incidentally, your window manager of choice is utterly irrelevant to this kind of issue, it's done far far far beneath that level.

Yes ofcourse, it's not an wm issue. But I've read somewhere that KDE should handle dabase connections better and more easy in the upcoming release but I'm probably totally wrong.

And Qt is pretty extensive too, it can handle net sockets ie.
