Question Cross compile for MC683xx using gcc

I'm working on a project where I need to cross-compile C-code to a MC68375 micro-controller using gcc. The problem is that I haven't used gcc to cross compile before and I'm pretty new to unix to. So if anyone has any tips on how to get started or any good resources, that would be great=).

The most important issue is to find the compiler for the right processor working on your development machine (Linux, Cygwin etc). Then you need to get used to the tools you use to program the processor, like programming the bootloader.

I had a look around for a compiler and couldn't find anything right away. Apparently you need a 'freescale' compiler for that board -that means a port of gcc for the architecture you want to compile for.
You'd need to obtain the sources for the compiler and compile it for use on your system. Then using the new compiler to produce binaries for the new architecture.
It's pretty complicated so don't expect results too soon...
I did see a few forums/newletters that may help you. Try googling for (freescale gcc) and then look for the processor you want.

Ok, thanks for the tips! I found this site: http://dce.felk.cvut.cz/nms/cpuarch/...ick-start.html, this seems to be
what I'm looking for.
