Can't get VBA macro to run in Powerpoint slide show

Hi -

All I'm trying to do is ShellExecute a program every time a new slide appears.

I'm using Office 2003 Powerpoint.

I did the following:

1. Tools, Options, Security Options, Macro Security,
Security Level= Medium

2. Tools, Options, Macro, VBA Editor:
Code:
Sub OnSlideShowPageChange(ByVal SSW As SlideShowWindow)
  MsgBox ("OnSlideShowPageChange")
End Sub
3. File, Save

4. Back to PowerPoint: F5) Slide Show, View Show
<= Did NOT see the message box

5. Exit out of Powerpoint, reopen the .ppt file, F5) again
<= Still don't see the message box

Q: What am I missing????

Why isn't "OnSlideShowPageChange" getting invoked when I run the slide show???

Thank you in advance .. PSM

Hi -

Thanx, Grail.

I still haven't gotten it working, but the link you sent phrased the root problem beautifully:
Quote:
the problem is initializing the
event trap in the first place.
The d--n thing actually WORKED last night. "Nothing changed". And, for the life of me (and so far, for the depth and breadth of Google ) I'm at a total loss to explain WHY.

Sigh ... Anyway - thanx again.

Yeah I tried a few variations as I have used vba for a number of years in word, excel and access without too many hiccups.
But this beast just doesn't play nicely with others
