[LaTex] Printing BibTeX details of a book anywhere in the document

I often make documents, such as course syllabi that need to print full book details right in the middle of the document (not in the bibliography). For example:

"For this course, you will need to buy these books:

Smith, S. "How to fly a kite". Kite Flyers Publishing, Inc. 2008.

Thompson, W. "Flying kites is fun". Windy Day Books. 2011."

\cite{} and such seems to only put the details inside the bibliography at the end of the document.
