NFS fileserver no permissions on Mac

Hi there,

I have a Linux OpenLDAP server for authorization and a Linux Fileserver (CentOS 5.3) and a MacBook Pro (10.5.8)

I have a folder called /export/test and a folder /export/sysadmin that are being exported via nfs:

Exports
/export/test *(rw,sync,insecure)
/export/sysadmin *(rw,sync,insecure)

Rights:
drwxrwx---+ 4 root Sysadmin 4.0K Aug 28 11:53 sysadmin
drwxrwxrwx 4 root Sysadmin 4.0K Aug 27 20:37 test

ACL Rights of sysman
# file: export/sysadmin
# owner: root
# group: Sysadmin
user::rwx
group::rwx
group:Sysadmin:rwx
mask::rwx
other::---
default:user::rwx
default:group::rwx
default:group:Sysadmin:rwx
default:mask::rwx
defaultther::---

I have created a user in ldap with uid 5000 and a group Sysadmin the user is a member of the group sysadmin, if i preform a "id username" i will see the group sysadmin. But when i login to my mac with that ldap user and mount the share /export/sysadmin it succeed but i receive access denied if i try to browse it. The /export/test share works perfectly (should be on 0777)

When i use a linux client and hook it up to ldap and login i am able to mount and browse the /export/sysadmin share and it works perfectly, so my guess is that it has something to do with the mac???

NFS fileserver no permissions on Mac

There is a very useful HowTo on the Ubuntu Forums here:

http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=249889

Comment #8 may contain the answer to your problem:

Quote:
If you're connection to a Linux NFS server from Mac OS X, you need to specify 'insecure' in your exports and map the user IDs since Macs use uid 501 for the first regular user. For my /etc/exports I use:

/home 192.168.0.0/255.255.255.0(rw,async,insecure,all_squash,anonuid =1000,anongid=1000)
