will any of these codecs also work in Mepis?
a tired subject i know but i'm just wondering if they will or which one's i need to make my news clips to play in Yahoo, Cnn, etc...........thx

you'll need to make them .deb format or find the .deb files somewhere cuz mepis uses the debian package system so rpm wont work. ya gonna need alien for converting an rpm package to a deb package. info about alien is here --> http://kitenet.net/~joey/code/alien.html

You can get the w32codecs in Mepis much easier than that. Either add the appropriate repo in Synaptic, or try Automatix
