Spaced Out: All Day in Hospital (on drugs)

Anyway when I was escorted home for a nap (as though I needed one),
I woke up and; of course, started to play with my new OS.

Having trouble with Thunderbird:

I download from Mozilla.

I uncompress, extract

In the destination folder no shell script appears when clicking on the
thunderbird folder.

Which step am I missing please?

Gee,today's surgery was done while awake and on some powerful
painkiller.

I feel I'm still floating, but want to be up and running with my PC.

Thanks for your help,

Salman

there is an easier way to install thunderbird

open up synaptic, it will prompt you for your root password, type it in and hit ok
press the update button to let it gather some data
then search for mozilla-thunderbird, right click on it, and goto install. then hit the apply button

Smile All Set Now

Thnks very much for helping a "drugged Out Space Kadette."

I first tried the installer, but I thought; huh, no brain?
Downloading again to look over each step I took
and it worked.

Meanwhile, thanks for letting me know Synapic is an available package.

I have a lot to learn about this OS, but it beats Windows without trying.

Thanks again,

Salman

you really shouldnt download things just randomly from the web, if its availiable in synaptic use that. that way you can easily remove the app later
