In a recent post I adopted aysiu's script for MEPIS, leading to some discussion:

Now that Firefox 1.5.0.3 has just been released, it is easy to use that script to update again to the most recent version.
1) Open that shell script in KWrite (or another editor)
2) Edit --> Replace
3) Type "1.5.0.2" in the
Text to find box, and "1.5.0.3" in the
Replacement text box
4) Save the file, and run the script as described in the previous post.
As long as the location of the Firefox files does not change, this script will apparently allow immediate updating of the browser when new versions are released.
Good for the impatient among us...
