EncFS and fuse

Hi I tried to install EncFS

http://arg0.net/users/vgough/encfs.html

which is available with its dependencies on debian unstable.

Unfortunately I cannot get ot to work, because
modprobe fuse
fails becuase no such module exists
and if I apt-get fuse sources and extract them in a dir compilation fails against mepis kernel 2.6.11.6 sources.
is anyone faring better ?
